Hand size 21cmGrip style claw / palm, hybrid
Initial thoughts after 40 in game hours
(You can truly see that from the packaging to every part of the mouse was done with intention and thought)
This was my first experience with their G Wolves or their mice. This was sent to me but doesn't effect my personal opinion of the product in anyway.
Being lucky enough to work with peripheral products on a daily basis I had yet to have the chance to use and test them. I can actually say after a solid time playing on just one of their mice I regret waiting so long!
I will say the main reason I hadn’t was due to some qc complaints from members in my community but the biggest was a couple customer service complaints. I can very easily say this was not experience on either hand! All interactions with G- wolves were very positive, kind, and respectful! Now let’s talk bread and butter!
The Vuk Positives
Packaging,Qc,Shape,and Innovative
Negative
Coating,Software,and Sensor issue / ( fixed)
Let’s get started on a positive foot!
Packaging!
If this is an important factor to you whether it be due to collecting or that sparkled feeling you get like it ignited your inner child on Christmas morning this is it! I don’t think it could be denied by anyone! G-wolves have hands down best packaging I’ve ever seen. The box is more exciting than the fineman and less complicated than the fineman all while actually having more purpose to it, during and after opening. I genuinely already felt better about their pricing considering the last Razer and Logitech purchase came with the absolute bare essentials at the same price range.

(1)Included in the box…
1 travel, made of hard plastic with a gun metal silver ascetic and case riddled with details for cord management and much more Grip tape of many sizes and shapes from full size to small squares and dots. G-wolves clay for changing the shapeCarrying strap attaches to case2 type c cablesDongle Mouse
(2)Qc.
Zero creaking or flexing anywhere on the shell Clicks are very crisp and nice feeling precise No noticeable pre or post travel No movement left to right one m1/m2 even in those more intense moments Side button feel solid with no unwanted play clicks are tactile and spam able. More noticeable in games like (The finals, or arc raiders where you're using them for important movements that you have to repeatedly use.
3) Shape

If you haven’t heard it before I’m a firm believer in (“shape is king!”) At first glance you can tell this isn’t a clone but there was something familiar about the shape. I realized quickly this shape is close to another mouse I’m very fond of the (xtrfy m68 pro) tho similar not a copy in any way. It honestly was still refreshing as it seemed they took the shape and made all the needed adjustments and improvements then went even further with innovation being the key principle and focus to this mouse. They kept the low lying front buttons with a less aggressive slope to m1/m2 Extremely light weight!!! Brought the hump forward giving it more of a center hump with easier and longer rear slope more like the (viper v3)Tapered the sides at the base of the mouse giving you easy lift of the mouse with a more natural grip allowing for a more consistent placement and actuation of the joints. The tapered side give it this touch of a flare at the front almost like not as dramatic as the (viper v2)Last but not least the base is flat base giving you some unique opportunities with skates tho surface area that’s usable for standard skates is kinda lackluster but. If you’re willing to be creative there are some cool things you can do.

(4) Innovative

( sensor one felt like all the benefits of a fingertip mouse, without the cost of stability)
This is where most mice and companies tend to lose me. Whether this be from using the same shapes or cloning or just not bringing something actually new to the next generation of mice. Though some throttle up a few specs there’s nothing just game changing there. This was entirely different tho this was my first experience with the golf ball like texture of some of their previous mice I found myself enjoying it as gave my finger tips a added grip but also a almost easier way to find home if you would in the texture which was needed as the coating on this mouse is one of the more slippery coatings I’ve used. With this said this coating seems to have no issues with getting stained due to dirty hands as this is always my big issue with white mice and what I do for a living. So a trade off if you will.. for me the solution was to play the mouse, find best finger placement for me then placing the small dot grips where it relieved the slipperiness of the coating but still allowed me the comfort of the texture. Where the true innovation comes into play is the sensors. (Dual sensor) though I saw more people making memes about this I felt as though it wasn’t appreciated enough in the community. One the fact that you're paying the same flagship prices yet getting more hardware isn’t enough to turn an eyebrow let me explain it further. They seem to have noticed the adjustable sensor being seen from mice like (xtrfy mz1 rail) or the (pawnage) mice and decided to go a step further here! They did give you one sensor that you can adjust its placement up or down slightly. They came in with two adjustable sensors, adjustable not in placement but in angle. Sensor (1) being at the very forefront of the mouse just in front of the scroll wheel and sensor (2) placed slightly forward of the center of the mouse inline with the mouse’s tapered sides. I have heavily spent more time on sensor one as I had to see if the advantages in my head to this sensor placement worked in real world applications. Outstandingly I can say I found this to be much more intuitive and responsive than I ever expected. It was noticeably more intuitive in flick scenarios and games though it took some adjustment with smooth tracking as it almost feels like it’s a lil more sensitive and responsive in micro movements. But yet after day one I felt fully adjusted to this.Sensor one makes you feel like you're using a fingertip mouse with a full size mouse stability all while giving the option of sensor 2 and going back to the more traditional feel of full size mice. Truly a positive all the way through hats off to G-wolves on this! (added note, both sensors worked on all tested pads including the sensor killer secret menu , The Jewel which is a mirror finish pad.)
What’s the ugly side of The Vuk
(1) (The coating)
The coating I’ve already touched on but here is where I wanted to be a little more detailed if there is a coating you can’t feel. It feels like hard plastic to the touch. Making it a touch slippery and when sweaty kinda unfavorable feeling. The fix for me was as above stated three of the provided small grip dots.
(2) (software)
There is a small piece of paper that tells you how to get to the web based driver. You want to use that… we tested this by letting some not familiar with the web drivers etc try to do it and they did struggle. Just going to google and typing g-wolves web based driver might not get you there.Once in there you kinda just got to mess around and find everything. (keep in mind this only has a power switch on the bottom there is no dpi button or polling rate)Though I still prefer having to figure out a ui and website for a minute than just having zero adjustment options over the on board option ( you know who you are)Once figured out though there are some awesome options like I stated before sensor angle adjustments. 8k polling competitive mode and more.
(3) (sensor issue)
I always take a mouse and play it right out of the box and play it for a minute then adjust it to me a bit, play it again then I’ll go through and update and fine tune it. When doing this I had three occasions where the sensor just stopped for a second or two. Wouldn’t read just appeared to turn off from all I could tell.. I was able to catch this in clips all three times, all being in different games as well.I’m not sure if this was the fix but when I first launched the web driver it automatically updated the bright blue minimalistic receiver. But did not update the mouse. Once I went back and updated the mouse this seemed to resolve the issue entirely.
This has been my entire initial thoughts and review of theG-Wolves Vuk. I honestly am liking this mouse more than I ever thought possible. I’ve never used a mouse that just shows that it was incredibly thought out not only by eye but also in its performance.
